The Context
Selami Law, a law firm based in Boston, Massachusetts, needed a complete brand and reputation foundation, from positioning and identity to press relations and digital presence.
The Challenge
A professional services firm must build trust before it can build a client base. Reputation precedes revenue.
The Strategic Question
How do you build a credible, distinctive brand for a law firm in a crowded market without resorting to generic legal marketing?
The Thinking
A law firm's brand is not a logo. It is the cumulative experience of how the firm communicates — across identity, messaging, press and client-facing work. The brand system had to separate reputation building from day-to-day marketing.
The Approach
Start with positioning and messaging architecture, then build the identity system, and finally direct creative output and press relations from that foundation.
The Execution
Built the firm's brand positioning and identity system, led reputation management and messaging, directed creative output across campaigns, digital content and client-facing communications, and managed press relations and spokesperson positioning.
The Outcome
A coherent brand and reputation foundation for a US-based law firm, with a defined identity system and messaging architecture.
My Role
PR Director & Brand Lead operating as an embedded remote advisor.
What Changed
The firm moved from no defined brand presence to a structured brand, reputation and communication system.
What I Learned
Reputation work for professional services is long-term. The most valuable output is not a campaign but a consistent system the firm can operate itself.
