The Context
Euronews Albania was conceived as a national media platform bringing European-standard news coverage to the Albanian market. The project required building editorial, operational and digital systems simultaneously.
The Challenge
A new media platform must establish credibility, audience and operational sustainability in a competitive market, all at the same time.
The Strategic Question
How do you build a newsroom that is editorially independent, digitally native and operationally sustainable from day one?
The Thinking
Media transformation is not only about technology. It is about people, workflows and the relationship between editorial standards and digital distribution. The platform needed to be designed as a system, not a collection of departments.
The Approach
Define the editorial strategy and communication frameworks first, then design the newsroom workflows and digital presence around them, including automated workflows and mobile journalism systems.
The Execution
Designed and implemented newsroom transformation models, developed training programs and communication standards for journalists and content teams, and coordinated multi-stakeholder environments across editorial, technology and operations.
The Outcome
A national media platform launched and positioned with a defined editorial strategy, communication frameworks and digital presence.
My Role
Chief Operating Officer leading strategic communication and media transformation.
What Changed
The organization moved from concept to an operating national media platform with structured editorial and digital systems.
What I Learned
Building a media platform is fundamentally a systems problem. The editorial product only becomes sustainable when the workflow, technology and people systems behind it are coherent.
